A monthly walk toward the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C., distinguishes recreation as the currency of choice, but nature has its own agenda, and get-rich-quick schemes historically continue to threaten the core of the Whistler lifestyle. Imagine a romp toward February 2010 where a series of rough-and-tumble mountain sports enthusiasts collide in an avalanche of errors. Mountain treasures, real and imagined, lead to disastrously dangerous hunts that further lead to the great Canada goose chase. It is all in the name of fun, recreation, and spirited friendship until a little riddle goes too far and a little deception gets too close, threatening the future of Whistler as a resort town. A few local “whizzies” devise a distraction for the residents with a message for the times facing a world-sized dilemma.
