Parenting From a Distance has been used in prison classrooms,in court-mandated parent education programs, and with divorced parents seeking understanding of the family law since 1986. Translated into Spanish at the behest of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1998. Parenting From a Distance details the rights and responsibilities of separated parents for staying in touch with their children and learning about their daily lives. It includes information on the court system and child welfare agencies, and guidelines for sharing parenting with others who help care for the children.
